Toshiba's Japanese Language Word Processor Dedicated IEEE as Milestone

10 November—The Japanese Language Word Processor (JW-10) from Toshiba was dedicated as an IEEE Milestone on 4 November. It is the eighth IEEE milestone dedicated in Japan. The Japanese Language Word Processor brought the complexity of the Japanese language into the computer age. The IEEE milestone plaque will be permanently displayed at Toshiba’s Corporate Research & Development Center and at Ome Complex, the two facilities most closely involved with the development of the JW10.
